Still Alive!

Tue Nov 3, 2009, 11:02 PM
2009 is quickly drawing to an end, and I find myself drawn back to deviantART. I've been rather absent unfortunately- but, I'm back! Many apologies and salutations to my watchers.

Several things have happened over the summer and early autumn. My husband and I moved from NC to TX, which made me swear to never to a self move cross-country ever again. I did odd jobs, from photography to social work (a field that is decidedly not for me- the politics involved are ridiculous), until I found employment with a university in town, where I am now a lab technician and research assistant for a couple of biology academic and research labs.

My husband and I also had our wedding on July 25th, which was colorful, wonderful, and busy. And then we had the honeymoon from hell (don't ask), and are now looking forward to our 1st anniversary trip (which I am planning).

My husband is also in the process of joining the military- getting an Army commission, to be exact. Which means we'll probably be moving again in 6mo or so, but at least this time it won't be our responsibility. And with his commission comes a stability in which the timing to have children is fantastic- and so, as soon as he's done with training, we're going to start our family. Very exciting!

I have jumped back into cat rescuing (albeit, I never really got out of it) and have rescued and rehomed two kittens since we arrived in the Alamo City. Our most recent one just had a portrait uploaded.

We'll eventually start up our stock account- right now, we have no space to set up a makeshift studio. Our spare room is being taken up by an artist, which leaves us with no place to set up lights. We're trying to get some stuff organized so that we can though!
